Parliament Schedules Special Sitting In Memory Of Late Ngora Woman MP Stella Isodo

Parliament will hold a special plenary sitting to pay tribute to the Ngora District Woman Member of Parliament (MP) Stella Apolot Isodo who passed away on Saturday 17th January in Kampala.

The Wednesday Special sitting will according to the Order Paper released by the Parliament’s Directorate of Communications and Public Affairs (CPA) commence at 2pm after the deceased’s body arriving at Parliament at 10am.

The news of Isodo’s passing was broken by the Speaker of Parliament Anita Among via her social media account X when she announced that the deceased had been battling a short illness. Up to the time of her passing, Isodo had been the woman MP for Ngora District having been elected on the Forum for Democratic (FDC) ticket in the 2021.

Before her death, Isodo had been campaigning in an attempt to retain her seat but her campaigns were regularly disrupted by her unstable health condition.

Ngora district woman MP seat was won by Pedun Josephine of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) who got 17,010 votes while Isodo got 11,334 votes thereby coming third. The same race saw the Democratic Party (DP) backed candidate Christine Abeja emerge as the second having garnered 12,152 votes.
