Uganda Police Force has launched the second phase of its “Arrive Alive” campaign, aimed at improving road safety and reducing traffic accidents nationwide.
Speaking on behalf of the Traffic Police, Spokesperson Michael Kananura urged motorists to maintain their vehicles in proper condition and to strictly adhere to traffic rules.
“Do not risk driving without a valid license. Ensure your vehicle is in proper mechanical condition, including good tyres, intact windscreens, and fully functioning lights,” Kananura said.
Vehicles with defects or missing essential components will be required to undergo repairs before being allowed to continue.
The campaign also emphasizes responsible driving behavior, including avoiding reckless overtaking, observing speed limits, and complying with all traffic regulations.
“Road safety is not about blaming one another. It is about working together to create a safer and more responsible driving environment for everyone,” Kananura added.
The Traffic Police have been conducting ongoing operations under the campaign, combining enforcement with public awareness initiatives to reduce road accidents and promote order on Ugandan roads.
