Victoria University Rolls Out New Bus As 10th Graduation Ceremony Approaches

Victoria University has unveiled a new branded bus as it gears up for its highly anticipated 10th graduation ceremony, scheduled for October 19 and 20, 2026, at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.

The two-day ceremony will celebrate the achievements of graduands across various academic programmes, highlighting the university’s dedication to producing skilled and innovative professionals ready for the future.

The bus, painted in the university’s signature red and black and featuring the slogan “The Future Is Here,” is set to enhance the institution’s transport fleet and boost brand visibility ahead of one of its most significant events.

On Monday, the event will honour graduands from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) and Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS). Tuesday will see students from Faculty of Business and Management (FBM) and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) taking centre stage.

The graduation, themed “The Future Is Here,” will kick off at 7:00am both days, bringing together graduands, parents, guardians, university officials and invited guests to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the graduating students.

Under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor Lawrence Muganga, Victoria University, often referred to as the “University of You,” continues to focus on practical, student centred and technology-driven education to prepare students for emerging professional opportunities.

One of its unique initiatives is Work-Integrated Learning, where graduates receive a Work-Integrated Learning Transcript alongside their academic transcripts, documenting practical skills, industry projects and professional competencies gained during their studies.

Victoria University’s emphasis on emerging technologies is evident in programmes like the Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Cyber Security and Digital Forensics, and Software Engineering.

With a diverse academic portfolio including Law, Pharmacy, Nursing Science, Business, Journalism, Tourism, Agriculture and Education, the university remains committed to preparing graduates with the innovation, digital literacy and practical skills needed in today’s job market.

For the graduands, this ceremony marks the end of years of learning and training, while for their families, it is a moment to celebrate the sacrifices and support that made this milestone possible.
