In a demonstration of regional military fellowship, Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, hosted a dinner at Lake Victoria Kigo on Thursday, welcoming allied military leaders and championing enhanced Pan-African cooperation.
The dinner was held in honor of the visiting Chief of General Staff of the Central African Armed Forces (FACA), Major General Zépherin Mamadou.
The event was attended by senior UPDF Generals and heads of Ugandan security agencies.

Alongside the guest from the Central African Republic, the gathering included a delegation from Kenya led by Lt Gen David Kepkemboi Ketter, Commander of the Kenya Army, and a Tanzanian delegation led by Maj Gen Marco Elisha Gaguti, Chief of Personnel for the Tanzania People’s Defence Force.
Gen Kainerugaba and the senior UPDF leadership joined Maj Gen Mamadou in reiterating the fundamental importance of the pan-African spirit and deeper military collaboration for continental security.
The dinner followed an earlier official meeting at the Special Forces Command headquarters in Entebbe. There, Major General Mamadou highlighted the crucial role of UPDF training and support under the ongoing bilateral military cooperation agreement, which has helped FACA rebuild its operational capacity.

The visiting military leaders will also grace the UPDF’s 45th Tarehe Sita celebrations, further solidifying the defense partnerships underscored during the visit.
