Justices of the Supreme Court, during their third weekly meeting of the year, accorded a warm maiden welcome to Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija, Chief Justice, at the Supreme Court Boardroom on the 5th Floor.
In his remarks, the Chief Justice expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to lead what he described as an exceptional team of jurists, noting that their collective wisdom and experience would be pivotal to his tenure, the institution, and the nation at large.
Zeija observed that the work ahead of the Court is substantial and emphasized the need for collegiality, commitment, a shared vision, participatory approaches, and the strategic application of technology to advance a fast-paced and modern Judiciary.
He further pledged to consult widely and work closely with all his colleagues at the Court. In turn, their Lordships welcomed the Chief Justice to the apex Court and congratulated him upon his appointment. They applauded his leadership as timely and well-suited to further deepen the Judiciary’s reform agenda, and collectively pledged teamwork, professionalism, collegiality, and continuous improvement in the operations of the Court.
