The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, on Tuesday welcomed a delegation of leaders from Allied Muslim Youth Uganda, the Dusmans Daawa Initiative, and Taniim, Hijja & Umrah to her Kyambogo office, where she formally threw her support behind the 2026 Ramadhan Charity Run.
During the meeting, the organizers presented details of the upcoming event slated for 15th February 2026 at the Herman Padel Centre in Nsambya. The charity run seeks to encourage physical wellness, strengthen community bonds, and mobilize resources to assist vulnerable families during the holy month of Ramadhan.
In her remarks, Hajjat Namyalo commended the team for creating an initiative that combines spirituality, healthy living, and social responsibility into one meaningful cause.

“Ramadhan teaches us sacrifice, discipline and caring for the less fortunate. Supporting this charity run is not just about fitness, it is about fulfilling our duty as believers to uplift those in need,” Namyalo said.
She underscored the importance Islam places on generosity and standing with the less privileged, drawing guidance from the Holy Qur’an:
“Allah says in Surah Al-Baqarah (2:261) that ‘The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains.’ This reminds us that every act of charity is multiplied in reward.”
Further referencing Surah Al-Ma’un (107:1-3), she noted that neglecting the needy contradicts the true essence of faith, emphasizing that belief must be demonstrated through tangible action.

“We cannot claim to be faithful if we ignore the hungry, the orphaned, and struggling families in our communities. Initiatives like this Ramadhan Charity Run give us a practical opportunity to live by the Qur’anic teachings,” she added.
On behalf of the Office of the National Chairman, Namyalo pledged institutional support for the initiative and urged Muslim youth, members of the corporate sector, and other well-wishers to take part by registering and purchasing run kits to boost the fundraising drive.
“Let us use our energy, our platforms, and our resources to ensure that no family breaks their fast without a meal this Ramadhan. Charity is not optional, it is an obligation,” she emphasized.
Representing the organizing committee, Uthman Matovu expressed gratitude for the endorsement and warm reception, describing Namyalo’s backing as a major boost to the campaign.

“This run is about more than just covering kilometers. It is about covering the gaps in our communities, ensuring that vulnerable families have food, essential supplies, and dignity during Ramadhan,” Matovu said.
He explained that funds raised from the event will be directed toward distributing food packages and essential household items to disadvantaged families. He added that registration is currently underway, with run kits already available through designated contact lines.

Matovu also appealed to institutions, business leaders, and youth groups to collaborate with Allied Muslim Youth Uganda, the Dusmans Daawa Initiative, and Taniim, Hijja & Umrah to expand the reach and impact of the 2026 edition.
Held under the theme “Charity, Fitness, Fun,” the 2026 Ramadhan Charity Run is anticipated to draw participants from Kampala and surrounding areas, fostering unity, generosity, and healthy living in preparation for the sacred month.
The initiative is supported by Dusman Contractors, Ifraad, Spanish Tile City, Fana (0704 157 815), Maqam Travels, Allied Muslim Youth Uganda, Ruby Hospital, and Herman Padel Centre.
