Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinnah Nabbanja, represented H.E. Rtd. Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, and Hon. Fred Byamukama, representing the Ministry of Works and Transport, along with other leaders, commissioned the Bukungu-Kagwara-Kaberamaido (MV BKK 1) and (MV BKK 2) Ferries at the Bukungu landing site in Buyende District.
MV BKK Ferry Project is intended to transform water transport on Lake Kyoga, improving connectivity, trade, and social services in Buyende (Bukungu), Kaberamaido (Akampala), and Serere (Kagwara). The project includes two modern monohull ferries, each with a capacity of 310 passengers.
Due to the busy schedule, Milly babalanda failed to join the commissioning exercise, but today witnessed the first day of operation, and it is truly a strategic transportation project investment that has the potential to transform our people’s lives.

Minister in Charge of the Presidency Milly babalanda commended the President of Uganda, H.E. Rtd. Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for fulfilling the pledge and Ministry of Works and Transport for the wonderful job done.
Milly appealed to the public to protect these gains put in place by the NRM government under the stewardship of H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as we advocate for more to transform our communities.
