Uganda Police in Kampala Metropolitan Area have continued conducting intelligence-led disruptive operations aimed at combating criminality and restoring public order in known black spots across various divisions.
These operations are part of sustained efforts to dismantle criminal networks engaged in narcotic abuse, robberies, and other unlawful activities. On the 30th of October 2025, at around 0200 hours, an intelligence-led operation was conducted in areas under Wamala Police Post in Nansana Division, Wakiso District, following persistent reports of illegal possession and abuse of narcotic substances.
Eight suspects were arrested from Wamala Kasumba, Karanzi, Kinyarwanda and Tabba sub-zones and found with suspected narcotic substances. They are pending prosecution. Similarly, on the 31st of October 2025, between 0030 and 0400 hours, another intelligence-led disruptive operation was conducted in Thailand, Katogo, and Kago areas of Kinawataka, Mbuya Parish, Nakawa Division.
Sixteen suspects were arrested from known criminal hideouts and charged with unlawful possession of suspected narcotic substances and public nuisance. In Old Kampala Division, the territorial police carried out two successful operations in Nakulabye and Kisenyi targeting thugs involved in simple robberies and narcotic use.
Twenty-four suspects were arrested in each of the two operations, with several exhibits including suspected narcotic substances and dangerous weapons recovered. The suspects are undergoing screening and will be arraigned in court upon completion of investigations.
In addition to enforcement, Uganda Police continue to emphasize preventive measures through community engagement programs. On 29th October 2025, a community policing drive was conducted in Bulabira Kalitunsi, Najjera, focusing on neighborhood watch, crime prevention, domestic violence, vigilance, and electoral offences. Residents were sensitized on how to cooperate with the Police through timely information sharing and vigilance in their communities.
