Patriotic League of Uganda on Tuesday continued its grassroots endorsement drive in Kiryandongo District, with PLU National Vice Chairman for Western Uganda and Minister of Local Government Hon. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi joining district leaders and supporters in mobilising support for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 2031 presidential bid.
The Kiryandongo exercise formed part of the wider Bunyoro mobilisation campaign that has seen endorsement books distributed across the sub-region and taken directly to communities for signature collection.
Hon. Balaam has been leading the Bunyoro mobilisation effort, working with Members of Parliament, district coordinators and grassroots structures to ensure the endorsement exercise reaches supporters at district, sub-county, parish and village level.
In Kiryandongo, he was joined by District Woman Member of Parliament Hon. Jovia Katusiime and other local leaders as residents turned up to formally endorse Gen. Muhoozi.
The exercise builds on the recent Bunyoro leaders’ engagement at the PLU Secretariat in Naguru, where leaders from across the sub-region reaffirmed their support for Gen. Muhoozi and received additional endorsement books for distribution in their respective districts.
Kiryandongo is among the districts now actively taking the campaign to the grassroots, alongside Buliisa, Hoima, Kagadi, Kakumiro, Kibaale, Kikuube and Masindi, with mobilisation teams continuing to collect signatures and expand PLU structures across the sub-region.
For Hon. Balaam, the focus remains on sustained grassroots organisation and ensuring that every community has an opportunity to participate in the endorsement exercise.
The Kiryandongo mobilisation also reinforced the growing coordination between PLU’s national leadership and district structures, with local leaders taking a more active role in carrying the campaign forward.
As the endorsement books continue moving through Bunyoro, the Kiryandongo exercise adds to the momentum already building across the sub-region in support of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for President in 2031 and beyond.
