Ntungamo Residents Endorse Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba For 2031 Presidency At PLU Baraza

Residents of Ntungamo District turned out in large numbers at Rubaare Playgrounds on Saturday, 17 October 2026, for the PLU Endorsement Baraza, where they registered their support for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda, for President in 2031.

The gathering brought together senior PLU officials, Members of Parliament, district leaders, coordinators and residents for a programme combining the endorsement exercise with community services and public engagement.

Among the leaders present were Brig. Gen. (Rtd) Emmanuel Rwashande, Member of Parliament for Lwemiyaga County; PLU National Vice Chairman Michael Nuwagira (Toyota); and General Secretary Rt. Hon. Twalla Fadil, alongside other political and local leaders.

At the endorsement desks, residents participated through both physical signature books and the online endorsement platform at plu.org.ug, providing two channels for registering their support for Gen. Kainerugaba’s proposed 2031 presidential bid.

The Baraza also featured membership registration and the issuance of unique PC membership identification numbers. New members were enrolled into PLU’s digital system, which links their membership records to their respective local communities.

Away from the endorsement activities, residents accessed free medical consultations, legal advice and assistance through a business registration help desk. The services formed part of PLU’s community engagement programme, allowing residents to seek practical guidance on health, legal and business matters.

The gathering also provided an opportunity to share the PLU message on patriotism, national unity, accountability, community service and grassroots organisation.

Following the event, General Secretary Fadil thanked the people of Ntungamo for their turnout and patience throughout the programme. He particularly recognised Jonan Muhumuza, who hosted the Baraza, together with Members of Parliament, LC5 chairpersons, local leaders, Secretariat staff and district coordinators who supported the event.

The Rubaare gathering brought the district’s endorsement exercise, membership registration and community services together in one programme, with local PLU structures continuing to coordinate participation across Ntungamo.
